When choosing materials for a particular application, engineers will often consult something called a material selection diagram. Where we plot two material properties on the x and y axes. This allows us to see the relative benefits of materials so we can choose a material according to our needs.
Steel is by far the heaviest, which rules it out of most aircraft structures. Actually it still gets used where its strength and heat tolerance are needed. We can also see that Aluminium is in fact lighter than Titanium, but Titanium is stronger than Aluminium. A better measure here is the strength to weight ratio. A ratio found by dividing the strength of the metal by its density.

This reduction reaction is extremely slow, between 2 and 4 days. Once the reaction is complete we need to let the product cool. Before removing the magnesium chloride products through high-temperature distillation once again. The magnesium and chlorine are recycled with electrolysis, another energy-intensive process.
Because of these inadequacies in forming capabilities, the final forging dimensions were nowhere near the design dimensions and much of the forming process had to be completed through machining. Meaning, most of the material was cut away to form the part, resulting in 90% of the material going to waste. When your raw material costs this much, this kind of waste really hurts.
The skin panels were fastened to the underlying structure with oblong holes which would allow the skin to expand and contract without the fasteners causing buckling. And the skin over the wing was also corrugated to prevent warping during expansion, this is actually quite noticeable, you can see the sections that are corrugated quite clearly here.
Beginning at its southern terminus, SR 91 in Corona, SR 71 is an expressway for a half-mile when it intersects with Pomona Rincon Road. After this intersection, SR 71 becomes a freeway up to Rio Rancho Road before reverting to an expressway up to Mission Boulevard. (previously, it was an expressway until its northern terminus, but this segment was upgraded to a freeway in 2012.) The route becomes a short freeway for about a mile until it meets at the Kellogg Interchange in San Dimas, where it terminates at I-10 and SR 57.
When the route runs through Chino Hills and Chino, there is a high-occupancy vehicle lane available for use; however, this carpool lane ends when the route enters Riverside County (to the south) and Los Angeles County (to the north). The route is a four-lane highway between SR 91 and Central Avenue (excluding HOV lanes), a six-lane highway (excluding HOV lanes) from Central Avenue to SR 60, and again a four-lane highway from SR 60 to I-10/SR 57.
In September 2008, construction began on the Mission 71 Project in Pomona. A bridge was constructed to allow Mission Boulevard to pass over SR 71, which now has entrance and exit ramps to Mission. Also, the intersection with Ninth Street was closed. The freeway was extended south to the former intersection at Ninth Street, where it resumes expressway status to the intersection with Old Pomona Road.[8] The construction project was completed in December 2011.[9]
Except where prefixed with a letter, postmiles were measured on the road as it was in 1964, based on a west-to-east alignment (including its original eastern segment that extended through Temecula and Anza), and do not necessarily reflect current mileage. R reflects a realignment in the route since then, M indicates a second realignment, L refers to an overlap due to a correction or change, and T indicates postmiles classified as temporary (.mw-parser-output div.crossreferencepadding-left:0.mw-parser-output .hatnotefont-style:italic.mw-parser-output div.hatnotepadding-left:1.6em;margin-bottom:0.5em.mw-parser-output .hatnote ifont-style:normal.mw-parser-output .hatnote+link+.hatnotemargin-top:-0.5emfor a full list of prefixes, see California postmile Official postmile definitions).[14] Segments that remain unconstructed or have been relinquished to local control may be omitted. The numbers reset at county lines; the start and end postmiles in each county are given in the county column.

Limited support from Air Force leadership and the perceived high cost of operation, which had been the bane of its existence for much of its later life, doomed the SR-71 Blackbird for a final time. Beyond the request to look into whether it could be brought back and the production of the subsequent proposal for doing so, the matter was not pursued any further. The reality was that the nature of airborne reconnaissance was deeply in flux at the time, which you can read about in detail here, here, and here, and spy satellites and the U-2s still in service could provide similar products as what the SR-71 could provide in many circumstances.
The SR-71B trainer, 61-7956, lasted until March of 2003 at Edwards AFB when it was trucked to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo Museum in Michigan. 61-7971 was similarly sent to the Evergreen Aviation Museum in Mcminnville Oregon starting in 2002. In December of 2003 61-7967 was the last to leave Edwards AFB on its way to Barksdale AFB, Louisiana where it was placed on display at the 8th Air Force Museum.
The city names attached to addresses are based on zip codes. These zip codes are assigned by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to designate delivery routes. The zip code associated with a given address defines which Post Office location will deliver the mail. This Post Office location is added to the street address assigned by Cobb County. There is currently one zip code in Cobb County with an Atlanta zip code - 30339.

Yet, this benefit actually isn't a reimbursement at all, but a reduction. In this video, we'll explain what you need to know about the Part B premium reduction benefit that's available with some Medicare Advantage plans.\n\nThe Part B reduction plan is, well, just as it sounds. You enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, and the carrier pays either part or your entire Part B premium. In the summary of benefits or evidence of coverage, you'll see a section that mentions the Part B premium buy-down. This is where you can see how much of a reduction you're going to get. This benefit is also referred to as the giveback benefit.\n\nThe giveback benefit has become very common across all states and is now available in the majority of areas. However, there are some ZIP Codes that do not offer this benefit in their Medicare Advantage plans.\n\nMany carriers, both large and small, offer a Part B premium reduction plan. These include Humana, Cigna, Aetna, and many more. Carrier coverage depends on your county and ZIP Code. You should always consider the plan ratings before you enroll.\n\nThe Part B premium reduction plan only participates with Social Security. You won't receive any checks directly from the carrier. Anyone enrolled in Medicaid or another form of assistance helping to pay for their Part B premium will not be eligible to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan with this benefit.\n\nMost pay their Part B premium through their Social Security check. If your Part B premium currently comes out of your Social Security check, you'll see the reduced amount reimbursed in your check. If you're not paying your Part B premium through your Social Security, then you'll have to pay Medicare directly the reduced amount. If you pay Medicare directly anything over the benefit amount, your carrier will not send you a check to reimburse you; it is a reduction, not a reimbursement.\n\nThe amount you get back can range from 10\u00a2 up to the entire Part B premium amount so you pay nothing. This amount depends on your area.\n\nPart B Reduction Plan Eligibility\n\u2022 You must be enrolled in both Part A and Part B of Original Medicare\n\u2022 You must not be accepting any government assistance that currently helps you pay your Part B premium\n\u2022 If you don't qualify for a Part B premium reduction plan, there are many other options available to you\n\nIt's important to know that a Medicare Advantage plan is not the best option for everyone. As great as it is to have your Part B premium reduced to save you money in your Social Security check, you might find that if you visit the doctor's office often, you could pay more out-of-pocket than you initially expected. Before you enroll in a plan, be sure to weigh out the pros and cons of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplements.\n\nThank you so much for taking the time to watch this video.
