I have centred on a new aspect, hunted for unseen locations, brought lots of hidden facts to light and used certain features which came through my experience in making Anjalika for Kalpanthe Sihinayak. I personally believe that I have made a much better production than my debut film.

However the South Indian Film Society prevented her from coming to Sri Lanka. I had to postpone shooting for three months. I had no other choice but to go for a new face. Chaithra is from Bangalore and she is quite suitable for the role. She was a newcomer when she acted in my film but now she had done three Indian films. That means she had made it to the limelight. I believe that at certain section of the Indian movie buffs will be interested to watch a Sri Lankan film that she had starred in if Kalpanthe Sihinayak takes to India.

Khuda Kay Liye (In the Name of God) is a story of passion, betrayal, love and politics. It is a Pakistani Urdu Language film with English sub titles, written, directed and produced by Shoaib Mansoor.

She noted that she hopes this film will help the audience to get a perspective of an average moderate Pakistani family affected by the global war on terror. It is a war which is being fought on Afghanistan territory but with grave consequences for Pakistan.

The film was screened in Hollywood, US, at the end of August and many Sri Lankans living in the country got the opportunity to watch the movie. Awards were handed over to the director Suneth Malinga Lokuhewa, producers Pasan Chandrasekara and Ravi Hans and actors Delon Jayasinghe and T M Dilshan for their contributions to the movie.

Multi talented film actor, producer and script writer, Sanath Gunatileke, is only a few days away from proving himself as a skilled director. His maiden directorial venture Ekamath Eka Rateka (Once Upon a Time) which introduces popular teledrama actress and television presenter, Nirosha Perera to Sri Lankan cinema, is complete and waiting to be released at Regal cinema, Colombo, and CEL circuit cinemas islandwide.

Her maiden cinematic experience came through a supportive role in 2001 film Rosa Wasanthe, directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya.[47] Some of her popular films are Sudu Hansi, 28 and Sinahawa Atharin.[48][49]

At the 39th IFFI in Goa a number of films from foreign countries were shown. Most of the films had subtitles in English. Only in such film festivals we can see a variety of films depicting different cultures in the respective languages. Among the 95 films shown, I could understandably see only a few during the 10 day festival. During the current year I had brought information and reviews of a great number of films I had seen on this page.

However, there were films that need to be noticed by serious cineastes in our country. For their benefit, I wish to share my observations and information I collected on this page. Such gleanings would naturally be brief.
